StepIt™ - The Rocking Foot Pedal – was developed by Professor Christer Busch M.D., Ph. D. at the University Hospital in Uppsala, Sweden. The StepIt™ was specially developed to increase blood circulation and decrease swelling in the lower legs. It was designed to simulate walking and activate the Calf Muscle Pump (CMP) in the lower leg.
The CMP is often considered as the body’s secondary heart. As long as the leg is active, the CMP pumps the venous blood from the foot back up to the heart. However, as soon as the leg becomes inactive, blood circulation is significantly reduced.
